Myobrace® for Kids
While many parents automatically think their children will need braces, that’s not always the case, thanks to Myobrace. As a preventative pre-orthodontic treatment, Myobrace addresses the underlying cause of crooked teeth, often without the need for braces, allowing for natural growth and development.

How Does It Work?
There are three stages involved in Myobrace treatment:
During this phase, children are taught to breathe through their nose and have a proper tongue position. Kids are also shown how to swallow correctly whilst at the same time continuing to widen their jaws.
As a result, children can experience proper jaw and facial development that gives the teeth sufficient room to come in naturally straight.
Myobrace® for Kids is for children over 7 years of age with underdeveloped jaws and is used in combination with habit correction therapy. During this phase, a removable intra-oral appliance is worn for 1-2 hours each day, plus overnight while sleeping.
When all the permanent teeth have erupted Myobrace® for Teens is utilised to align the teeth. An intra-oral appliance needs to be worn during the day and overnight.

Once your child has Myobrace they can perform some easy and fun activities each day to get the most out of their treatment. When your child wears their Myobrace daily and completes these activities each day, your child’s jaw and teeth can develop as they should.
The activities help by stretching, strengthening and retraining your child’s tongue, lip and cheek muscles as well as improving the way they breathe. If your child can control where their tongue is positioned and the way they breathe then their treatment time will be shorter, your child’s teeth will naturally become straighter and their jaws will develop properly.
