Meet Ruth Purvis, Dental Hygienist
Ruth has always been interested in working in the health industry. She was inspired to become a dental hygienist as she’s a compassionate and caring person, and has always wanted to keep people healthy.
To prepare for her career, Ruth earned a Diploma of Dental Hygiene from Gilles Plains TAFE in 2003. Each year, she tries to attend the International Dental Hygiene Symposium, which is in a different state every year. During the year, she also takes local dental hygiene courses.
“The most rewarding aspect of my profession is helping people with gum problems/inflammation achieve health.” Having worked for a periodontist and treated people with severe gum issues, Ruth feels it has given her the ability and knowledge to help patients achieve health.
In Her Spare Time
When she’s not at the practice, Ruth enjoys watching movies, walking her Cavoodle named Taffy, and spending time with her husband Adrian and daughter Tayla. She also likes to socialise with friends.
